Bio

Benfield (yes his actual name, yes one word) shares his debut single ‘How Can I Forget’; our first glimpse into the enthralling world of this unique Sydney artist.

Benfield’s debut EP, set for release in late 2018, is the result of someone who has spent years refining his craft, and has been moulded by the experiences of living a year in solitude, travelling relentlessly, a traumatic motorbike accident in Croatia and time spent cohabiting with an Antarctic explorer.

‘How Can I Forget’ is the first draw-card into the vast and magnificent sonic landscapes that Benfield creates. This song in particular was triggered by an unexpected breakup, the rapid plummet into a stagnant rut, and the feelings of loneliness and isolation that loss and despair can bring. He worked with Luke Bertoz on production duties (Tales In Space, Dappled Cities), and also involved a collaboration with Graham Ritchie, who has played and written with Holy Holy, Big Scary, Airling and Japanese Wallpaper.

First track on Unearthed and it'd be worth remembering the name. Tugging on the heartstrings right upto the climactic conclusion.

Benfield has bloody done it again. This is the perfect cry-dance tune.
