Bio

Benjamin Brown is an energetic, charismatic and versatile artist to say the least. A talent of Maori heritage who grew up on the east coasts of Australia. On the sultry north sides of Brisbane is where Brown first found his love for music. His father was a musician, and this was his first exposure to music as his Dad played guitar and sang at family hāngis. During the mid-90s, hip-hop was just reaching it’s peak in the universal world of pop. It was during this era in 1997 that Brown heard his first hip-hop song through the FM radio of a Holden VL Commodore – I'll Be Missing You (feat. 112).

Since discovering hip-hop through that song, a eulogy of one of the greatest MCs - The Notorious B.I.G., Brown has seen hip-hop as a death and rebirth medium. Given the infancy of hip-hop, compared to other music genres, and it's instatiable influence into pop culture - he treats the artform as a youthful constant. Brown seeks to blend his smooth boom-bap hip-hop with a mixture of analogue and contemporary digital tones, making him a breath of fresh air to current sounds.

His ability to produce beats from scratch and conjure the spirit of other artists has allowed Brown to work with local artists (such as GALLVS, Huey Blue, Rvhu & MAÏA) as a rapper, writer, producer, steadily building a portfolio of inspiring, catchy, though provoking music.

Oof Benjamin coming in with the hard bars on this one! Lots of raw thoughts and he gets them out with growing vehemence across this track.
