Bio

And groove fuelled producer Beso Palma is born with his debut release ‘Beats Vol. 1: Verano’ (released 20.3.20). The 6 track beat tape combines a variety of different textures and moods, drawing inspiration from some favourites such as MXXWLL, Tom Misch, Young Franco, Kaytranada, Cosmo’s Midnight & D’Angelo.

The release of this EP was a way for Beso to establish and showcase his sound in the industry whilst simultaneously capturing the attention of several up-and- coming artists in the Australian music scene. This inspired him to begin the creation of his upcoming feature EP entitled, ‘Beso Bumps’. Furthermore, it lead to a sponsorship from Vintage clothing label, ‘Barney Cools’, using Beso’s beats behind their campaigns.

The EP kicks off on a more personal note with debut single “Better” (released October 30th 2021) with feature vocalist as Beso himself. The track focuses on not being ready to give a relationship 100%, which is what every relationship is entitled to. “I (Beso) wanted to capture the feeling of accepting that the timing of the relationship wasn’t right for me, knowing that there was someone ‘better’ out there for that person at that present time. The last thing I wanted to do was resent the relationship”.

In April 2021, Palma has announced his latest single “Ego” featuring neo-soul/R&B artist Rissa. Fired up by electronic energy, “Ego” is a groove evoking track building anticipation to his upcoming EP which is to be expected in October of this year.

“Ego focuses on a relationship where one person isn’t getting the attention they deserve,” Beso explained. “The song speaks for itself with the energy and sass behind the production and with lyrics such as ‘so, what will it be? All that I ask for is that you focus on me.’ Representing assertiveness, the point of view comes from knowing exactly what you want in a relationship and asking for it.”

“I knew I wanted a female vocalist on the beat and RISSA’s name was popping up on my Instagram from mutual friends,” said Beso. “I gave her tracks a listen and knew she would be the perfect fit for the song. I messaged her and she came past the studio. The chemistry was on from the get-go and we just clicked.”

“It was a pleasure to meet Beso for the first time and create, drawing from some of our favourite mutual inspirations.” told Rissa. “Mixing the sass and boss energy of the lyrics with the upbeat heavy hitting production gives ‘Ego’ that little extra playful element that people can relate and groove to."
The ‘Beso Bumps’ feature EP includes collabs from some serious up-and-coming artists such as breakthrough Aussie female hip-hop, soul act Rissa (Triple J), R&B powerhouse Gia Vorne (Triple J / Like A Version w Taka Perry), , experimental jazz trio Brekky Boy (Montreux Jazz Festival / International Sofar Sounds Feature Artist), Mel Blue (Kitsune Feature Artist) and Janeva (Majestic Casual). The ‘Beso Bumps’ EP is set for release in October this year 2021.

“I’ve (Beso) been lucky enough to connect with some amazing artists for the EP, who are now gaining well-deserved recognition in the Australian music scene.”
In 2021, running off exposure from “Better”, Beso is gearing up for “Ego”, his second and focus single off the EP, that will feature powerhouse soul / hip-hop artist, RISSA, set for release April 9th 2021.

“A master in the art of auditory healing” – Amar Gera (Life Without Andy)

“It’s like poetry, every element and dynamic feels so intimate and intricate. Brilliant and smooth AF” – Nkechi Anele (TRIPLE J)

Upon releasing ‘Ego’ Beso will be headlining a secret location gig in Sydney TBA towards the end of April so make sure you’re following his socials for updates. He will also be supporting Mel Blue at their Oxford Arts Factory show on the 22nd of May.

If this doesn't have your heart racing then unfortunately you're certified dead. Beso Palma is on a Kaytranada tip pulling in grooves from the furthest reaches of our solar system.
