Bio

'A playful palate of funky fried folk sauteed in reggae relish, on a bed of mish mash, drizzled with jazzy jus and served with a side of soul'

Beth n Ben’s songwriting spans from Folk, Rock and Pop, to Blues, Reggae, and Jazz tunes. Their fusion of genre, and tongue in cheek writing style consistently turn heads and get the crowd moving wherever they go.

Folk Roots and Reggae Funksters Beth n Ben drop new live digi single with a more serious message wrapped in Blues overtones.

With three studio EPs under their belt and a proven track record as road warriors on the touring circuit up and down the East Coast of Australia, Beth n Ben drop this new live digi single, Your Gods, mixed by legendary Producer and Engineer Spencer Lee, to showcase their big band sound. Recorded at the acclaimed Street Theatre in the Capital Territory, Your Gods is the lead track off Beth n Ben’s upcoming live album, Baggage Claim, set to release in mid March 2015.

Known for their ability to address social issues with a cheeky twist, Your Gods sees Beth n Ben taking on a more serious subject with sensitivity and an enquiring touch. In a world where most of us have had our ‘loyalties’ challenged by family, friends and associates from various interest groups and religious factions in recent time, Beth n Ben take the central position of love for humanity and pose the question; “Wouldn’t you tell me where I am supposed to go?”.

Accompanying this release is a live film clip shot on the night of this performance, and edited by Chris Legge. YouTube link: http://youtu.be/SJdKPHU2a0Q

Beth n Ben will be back on the road with an East Coast tour scheduled for late January, early February 2015. Details to follow soon.

The lead singles from each EP (‘Walk On’, ‘Little Lady’ and ‘Back of the Line’) have been aired on major networks such as Triple J and ABC Coast as well and community stations across the country including 4ZZZ Folk Buddies (Brisbane), Bay FM Crossroads (Byron Bay), PSFM Fresh Fridays (Salamander Bay), 2RES Drive time (Sydney), 2XX Drive time (Canberra), 3WAY Drive time and Breakfast (Warnambool), 3WPR Breakfast (Wangaratta), 3SER Drive time (Melbourne), SUV Australian Music Show (Adelaide), and Tjuma Pulka The Lunchtime Roll (Calgooorlie).

The bands festival credits to date include a support set for Chris Isaak as part of the Enlighten festival, main stage at Summer Rhythm festival along side the Beautiful Girls, Lyre Bird (2nd Main) stage at Peats Ridge Festival, second headline at The Northern Beaches Music Festival, main stage Corinbank Festival, main stage at the Byron Bay Love Jam, headline at The Manly International Jazz Festival (non-jazz stage), and the Manly International Food festival.
