Black River Bell (aka Sydney singer-songwriter Timothy Bray) writes dark folk songs that explore nature in crisis, existential dread, shadowy daydreams and the spaces in between. Conjuring a dystopian vision of the Earth being ravaged by climate change, latest single ‘The New World’ instantly lures listeners into this dark scenario with its opening lyrics: ‘When the seas are rising, will you float so gracefully, or will you barely keep your head above?’ It's a haunting introduction to the world of Black River Bell's debut album 'The Great Unknowing', which was written as a personal reaction to the era of climate change and explores this existential threat and its unfolding consequences in myriad ways across its nine tracks.
