Bio

New video up for 'Here Right Now' at www.youtube.com/theblackstars New video up for 'Make You Happy' at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqkhxCoMNUM “It’s all pretty vigorous stuff as the stabbing riffs in Animal Riot and the abrupt delivery of the lyrics in What You Do to Me keep things throbbing along.. exuberance is also channeled through the addition of a dance edge to their songs, giving an added freshness to a punchy sound.” 3.5 stars Sydney Morning Herald Metro 17th February 2012 “Byron Bay’s The Black Stars are channeling the best in contemporary Australian rock from Eskimo Joe to The Living End – and doing it well too. Drum Media 13th December 2011 “..these melodies make you want to crowd surf (if you still could) while singing along to a contagious chorus. Elementary has a modern punk edge (without Blink 182-style cringe worthiness), gritty, grinding guitar and the catchy hooks of Tegan and Sara or Magic Dirt.” 3.5 stars Rave Magazine 15th November 2011 “Byron Bay trio The Black Stars know how to make it good and make it fast. From their debut album Elementary comes the lead single Here Right Now, a tune full of romping drums, singalong vocals and a hell of a riff.” The Music Network October 2011 The Black Stars debut album Elementary is out now. They've worked with Magoo on this track and the rest of their album. It packs a punch. Good solid hook too. Just not sure about that brown leather shirt.
