Bio

Unfazed by the comings and goings of music trends, Sydney-based garage pop revivalists BLAND live their lives with one foot in the present, and another firmly planted in the past. Calling to mind a rich Australian heritage of lean, jangly guitar arrangements, distinctive vocals and songwriting that celebrates the minutiae of suburban life and relationships, BLAND are proud to share their debut single "Can't Talk About It".

Taken from their Debut EP set for release in late 2017, 'Can't Talk About It' is pointed, honest songwriting at its most melodic. Surrounded by a chorus of ringing guitars, singer Oliver Ellis wistfully recalls a relationship that didn't quite end like it should've; and in those aussie intonations lies a sincere, relatable voice.

BLAND have been one of the better-kept secrets in Sydney's music scene since debuting their live show less than 12 months ago, having landed local supports for Gum, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Telegram (UK) and Body Type entirely by word-of-mouth. The band's early demos saw repeated airplay on local community station FBi Radio.

What a misnomer. This is anything but bland.

Treading that beautifully jangly Australian path which acts like Twerps and The Go-Betweens have walked before, 'Can't Talk About It' is so intimate and relatable.
