Bio

Blaq Carrie is an explosive new artist set to set to make a massive impact on the music scene. Hailing from Harare, Zimbabwe the Rapper/Singer began a love obsession with hip hop at the tender age of 12. Through sheer determination Carrie has perfected her skills as a lyricist since she started rapping and writing at 15. Being in one of the most competitive and challenging industries in the world not scared to the performer away. She’s single-handedly putting in a tremendous effort to fund her recording and production while constantly improving her musical abilities at the same time. But Blaq Carrie wants people to know she’s different from the ordinary wannabe performers in the music game. Rather than superficial champagne music her work aims to reflect on big issues and the important things in life. “I’m not just a rapper I’m an artist,” she explains. After releasing her first mix tape Training Session in 2008 Blaq Carrie is taking her game to a whole new level. Although her career has just begun she has already started to work her way to the top, performing at the opening night for Brisbane’s premier cultural venue The Edge. Now she’s teamed up with Music Producer/Songwriter Josh Travers and Singer/Songwriter Adam George for her debut single "Let There Be Hope" which will be part of her EP/Album with no title set in stone yet. Already the trio are excited for the release of Carrie's brand new single "Let There Be Hope" out in May on iTunes. As her new project starts to take shape Blaq Carrie is ready to unleash her potent lyrics on an unsuspecting audience. With music influences including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Aaliyah, 2Pac & Lauryn Hill it seems her dream of winning a Grammy is not only possible, but inevitable. Join her on a quest with music right now before it’s too late. I rate this is a really nice step up for BC. Great to hear that hooky Hamley production but with that familiar BC snarl.

The best I've ever heard you Carrie! Plenty of punch and purpose on this one.
