Artist:Blight

Blight are a Melbourne based deathcore band with an emphasis on aggression and groove. Their debut single Coward, released in 2018, was met with much success and was voted number 11 on the Faction’s Hardest 100 for that year. The follow-up EP Night Terrors, released a year later, built upon that success and showcased the breadth of their sound. Though Blight describe themselves as deathcore, its members are from a variety of musical backgrounds and are not afraid to blend elements from other genres into their hard-hitting sound, similar to bands like Rivers of Nihil and Shadow of Intent. This has led some to describe them as ‘blackened deathcore’ or ‘progressive deathcore’. Blight have had the fortune of sharing the stage with popular metal bands such as Zeolite, Scourge, and acclaimed Slipknot tribute band Surfacing. Blight have just released their second EP Death Knows, which is a thematic record exploring ideas of self, memory, and death.
