Bio

On the back of the release of their debut single, ‘Parachutes’, in January of this year, The Blockades are riding high and gaining confidence after a run of shows and press & radio interviews in their hometown of Brisbane.

The exposure they’ve received is paying off for the 15 year olds. Following a run of energetic and passionate performances all over Brisbane, the band is gaining a loyal following which has lead them to headlining shows.

Next for the band is the highly anticipated release of their 2nd single in the coming months. This will give their fans a further taste of the Blockades sound, which has been described as ‘catchy whilst retaining that raw punk flavour.’ The release will be followed by more interviews and shows, so stay tuned for these.

The Blockades are Caleb Freeman, Jade Roles and Dylan Thompson. Possessing 2 strong vocalists, the band creates a huge rock sound for just a 3 piece. Their tunes are more than simple punk rock, with melodic lines supported by layered harmonies and backing vocals. Despite being only 15 years of age and still in high school, the band has already accomplished a lot. This includes several festivals and club shows including Scarborough Originals, Picnic Hill, Rockin 4 The Homeless, Jacaranda Festival, Walk in our Shoes Festival, The Backroom and The Globe Theatre.

Once I accidentally caught a train to Redcliffe and ended up over an hour late to a meeting. I wish I could have introduced that person this song as an apology.
