The blue hotel are a Melbourne based band currently promoting their sophomore E.P. 'into the firelight' playing a range of shows throughout Melbourne. The band are in the midst of recording the follow up single 'silence ' release date TBA. The outfit tend to blend solid beats and grooves peppered with chiming guitar sequences combined with an array of embellished synths and instrumentation layered with sublime vocal and harmony. There is a melancholic hope to the songs the singers and chief songwriters Jenna Roubos and Nathan Thomas bring to the table. At times the lyric is laid bare as if to steal a forbidden glimpse at a truly broken heart. Other times at play with a sense of wonder and escapism. Lyrically the songs sway between ambiguity and heart felt honesty with ease. Live the band tend toward a darker, more intense vibe almost teetering at times on the unstable.
