Artist:Boy Jeriko

Boy Jeriko has lived on the Gold Coast for his entire life. He was a young boy, who’s world was free, and void of any major responsibility or worry other than to ‘have fun’ and simply, enjoy life. Moving from his home town in Mudgeeraba, to a more southern area, the hardest years of his life were yet to come. “My life underwent radical change at the age of 14. August 11th 2012 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, an auto immune disease that attacks the pancreas. This meant I would have to use needles and draw blood everyday until an inevitable death. This experience, hardened my heart. I closed off to the world and built a wall. The innocent and carefree boy I once was, who found joy in the simplest of things was somewhere inside the walls I built. The pain and suffering of the disease had rendered me hopeless.
