Branch Arterial are a band who are driven by exploring their musical boundaries. This has been their primary focus since day one and it can be heard in the debut EP 'Voices Unknown' and follow up single 'Faces'. With the momentum gained from numerous local and interstate shows, festivals and two successful releases, this lead them to their first International Support Show in 2013 for platinum selling US-based group Flyleaf. Also countless other supports for high profile Aussie favorites such as: Dead Letter Circus, Twelve Foot Ninja, and Circles.
Like many bands, Branch Arterial have had their share of setbacks with the departure of drummer Darren Hurford and guitarist Adam Hompas. However these positions were soon filled by Tim Chilman on guitar and Adam Zaffaresse on drums. Further set backs occurred with bassist Kade Turner having to learn to walk again after a horrific motorbike accident in South America in 2013. After numerous operations and a full hip replacement Kade has made a lengthy and successful recovery. In April 2014 vocalist Nigel Jackson was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of blood cancer which required a full bone marrow transplant. Nigel had slim chances of surviving the procedure but he defied the odds, thanks to an amazing team of doctors and with his sister being a matching donor, it was a success.
August 30th 2014 marked a bittersweet occasion for the band. It saw them perform to a packed Espy Gershwin Room for the Annual Progfest. There were mixed emotions on stage given it was the bands first show since Kade's injury and with the new line up, also it was only 3 days before Nigel was admitted to hospital for the start of his treatment. After an electric performance in front of a well receiving audience the seed was planted for the band's next chapter.
With a debut album in production, Branch Arterial are poised and eager to unleash their latest offering to the world.
