      When Launceston comedy band Brandish formed in 2013, no-one thought the quartet was capable of going twice platinum, recording a #1 hit and playing stadium tours across five continents - and they still don't. Consequently, it comes as no surprise that the band’s career highlights to date are having a song about hay fever shared by a Kleenex page on Twitter and earning enough in CD sales to purchase a bear suit from China. Combining the talents of ex-Riverside High School mates Hamish Geale (vocals, guitar, keys) Brent Jacobson (lead guitar), Rob O’Brien (drums) and Ryan Goodger (bass), the band made its humble beginnings in a music den underneath O’Brien’s parent’s house; often playing until 9pm on weeknights and annoying the neighbours by playing the same songs over and over again. The band achieved its first critical acclaim in 2014 when The Ellyse Perry Song was played live to Ellyse Perry on Triple J radio, with the cricket star confirming the song was “brilliant”.
