Brash and Sassy are Western Australia’s resident grand-daughters of Italo-pop-disco who are gracing the nation with their pure, unadulterated, electro-pop debut EP, ‘NOW’ in December. ‘NOW’ is a collection of songs about heartbreak, pale young men with strawberry pouts, passion for Men In Leather and raises important questions about people’s intentions on the dance floor - do they think they’re getting fit? ‘NOW’ was recorded by Matt Giovannangelo at Underground Productions, Perth and co-produced by Jaymes Voltaire of the Voltaire Twins. The EP is available through Green distribution. Performing since 2006, Brash and Sassy consists of lead singers Ava Loverock and Gennaia Febbraio, Guy Kristos on keys, Hønk Milmoe on guitar and John Grant on drums. The five-piece have performed with the likes of Bertie Blackman, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Chromeo, Horse Meat Disco DJs, The Freemasons and Miami Horror and have played at music festivals Good Vibrations Parklife, Summadayze, One Movement and the Big Day Out. Brash and Sassy were nominated for Best Electronic Act at the WAMi Awards, were finalists in the WAM Song of the Year and their track ‘No Milk For You’ was recently handpicked by Fashion TV Australia to feature on runway clips across Australia and New Zealand. The “No Milk For You” single was released in 2009, featuring remixes by Bluesky (Josh Garden from Grafton Primary), The Transients and Tomas Ford and it is available on iTunes. Doing it with panache, Brash and Sassy are exposing their overtly sensual shows and sounds to welcoming minds around the world.
