Bio

BREAKAWAY is a 5-piece, Sydney-based rock band formed in 2012. Since the band’s formation they have released their debut EP ‘One Minute | One Moment’ recorded by Dave Petrovic at Electric Sun Studios (Tonight Alive, Heroes For Hire, Pop Goes Punk) and released three music videos. The EP seen over 15 000 downloads/ purchases in total and the YouTube channel has collected over 200 000 views. Their single ‘At the World’s End’ saw heightened success with TV airplay on RAGE, an addition into MTV’s Most Wanted music video playlist as well as being featured as a ‘Free Song of the Day’ on Purevolume.
BREAKAWAY finished the year of 2013 as part of Purevolume’s ‘Top Ten Unsigned Bands’ and are currently writing for their debut album.
The past year has brought high expectations of the band, receiving praise from Alternative Press Magazine in their ‘100 Bands You Need To Know This Year’ edition. After completing three east coast tours and playing with the likes of Taking Back Sunday, The Used, Anberlin, Flyleaf, The Almost, Hands Like Houses, Closure in Moscow, and many more over the past 12 months, they have definitely earned their Australian touring stripes and are holding themselves to such expectations.
