If Brianna Carpenter smiles at you while singing, you best smile back.
It's not like you'll have a choice of course, the sides of your mouth will spring up as if they're reaching for your ears. The Brisbane based red head makes contagious music, and her second album is set to make your smile the biggest yet.
Brianna, who's talent is both prolific and ridiculous, has been making music her entire life. Her electric-red Mary Janes have stood proudly on many stages: from the litter strewn bricks of the Queen Street Mall, to the reflective surface of the Australian Idol stage. Her voice heard soaring above dubstep collaborations and the soundtracks of popular international TV shows, you could say Brianna has been a busy lady.
A long way from her debut album, Harlequin, where she teamed up with producer Brendan Anthony, Brianna is back with her own record label Fringe Records, and the album On So It Goes. Incorporating all of her favourite jazz, folk and pop influences, it's fully self-funded and produced from her own studio. The album is unpredictable, yet completely satisfying, but don't get comfortable, the variety inside On So It Goes will have you chillaxing in the sun, to reflecting on relationships, to fearing the loss of your younger years and celebrating wide-eyed, childlike play time all in one. Brianna will take you anywhere you wanna go, a line from the first single, In Our Hearts that sums up the album and her attitude to life - it's what you make it.
Brianna's song writing accolades continue to roll in. Her latest win- Musician of the Year at The RAW Awards in Brisbane is testament to her huge talent. Other brag-worthy bestowals on Brianna include having her music featured on NBC, CTV, an online campaign for ADIDAS and various independent film projects. She has also completed her debut short film score as well as her own merchandise range. And the creations don't just stop with her tunes. A musician, songwriter, producer and businesswoman with a penchant for frilly dresses, she is a walking rainbow. And like rainbows, you smile at them and talk about them later. A true artist of life itself.
