Since bursting onto the ultra-competitive Australian live music scene in 2008, Built On Secrets have fast made a name for themselves, with their instantly catchy take on ambient-rock winning over fans in both the band’s hometown of Melbourne, as well as the rest of the country. After landing early supports with acts as diverse as All Time Low, Set Your Goals, 3OH!3, The Amity Affliction, Haste The Day and Kris Roe of The Ataris, Built On Secrets have gone on to play at the 2010 Push Over Festival in Melbourne – alongside Kisschasy, Break Even and 50 Lions – as well as touring nationally with Mary Jane Kelly and Dead Kings. Amongst all this, the young quintet still found the time to release their stunning debut EP, Reflections. Recorded at Electric Sun Studios in Sydney (House VS Hurricane, Heroes For Hire), the seven-track affair showcases a level of song writing that is rarely seen in acts this young, with Australian music bible BLUNT MAGAZINE awarding the effort a 4 out of 5 star review (as well as coming in at #3 in the year's best EP poll, behind The Devil Wears Prada and Alexisonfire. Recently landing a Japanese release for Reflections through STM (home to Emarosa, Closure In Moscow), Built On Secrets have just wrapped up support slots with US tourists Senses Fail and Oh, Sleeper, as well as performing alongside Australian powerhouse The Getaway Plan at their sold-out reunion shows. The band is currently writing for their debut full-length (set for a release in the first half of 2011).
