Bio

The Burley Griffin have been making friends throughout the Australian music scene, with their uniquely alt-country, folk n’roll sound and high energy stage show.

After an extended solo tour/hitch hiking adventure spanning the United States, songwriter Evan Buckley returned to his hometown of Canberra in 2011 and began assembling what would soon become The Burley Griffin.

Featuring the wildly distinctive guitar work of lead guitarist Henry King and solid rhythm section in bassist Steve Paillas and drummer Sam McNair, The Burley Griffin have refined their sound, drawn from a broad church of influences, crafting a sonic palette that seamlessly swings from buoyant pop to blistering, guitar driven rock.

Working with local recording mastermind Sam King at Merloc Studios to capture the raw energy of the band, the self-titled release features song-writing from both Evan Buckley and drummer, Sam McNair, treading rugged new territory in your favourite well-worn shoes.
