Bio

Buttercats are an RnB inspired Disco Soul band from Brisbane. The band formed in 2018 when frontman Tim Watkin moved to the city from Cape York, timing well with his sister Jaymee Watkin returning home from touring as drummer for Australian songstress, Emma Louise. Marc Duboi’s bedroom producer past then added a modern edge to the soulful inclinations of the siblings. Buttercats have poured their souls into an electrifying live show that thrills and excites, with an emphasis on helping all people of the world step into a melty, glistening dewdrop of euphoria. Their growing reputation as a live band saw them take the stages at Yonder Festival and accompany British soul sensation, Nilüfer Yanya in 2019. They are riding this wave into 2020 with a slot at Nine Lives Festival alongside Aldous Harding and Julia Jacklin, and a support slot for Aussie songstress royalty, Ngaiire.

if my dreams came true and The 1975 released a neo-soul inspired record, I reckon my favourite single would sound like this. an über nice intersection between pop, disco and electro.

Shuffling along to this balmy funk track. Plenty of feeling behind the song and between the rubbery bass notes.
