Bio

The Buzzbees are a five piece rock and or roll band hailing from sunny Brisbane, Australia. Forming in late 2011 with one goal in mind; to combine their shared passion in all kinds of music to write songs that they themselves would want to listen to. Since that goal was established they’ve been writing, recording & playing live, honing their skills as a live band & working on their unique sound.

2013 saw the band get national radio play on 4ZZZ, ABC & Triple J Unearthed with their debut single “The Drifter”, and along with a few delicious gigs culminated in a spot at the Sunshine Coast’s Golden Days Festival alongside Grinspoon, Ball Park Music, Kingswood, Sticky Fingers & others, The Buzzbees were gaining momentum.

This year has begun with their very first headlining gig at Brisbane’s The Zoo as well as supporting international band Mothers Cake & Melbourne’s Greenthief. During which time they’ve also been finishing up recording of their debut EP expected to be release mid 2014. TBB are on the rise & will continue to grow their grass roots fan base throughout this year.

Bree Cohen (AU Review) – “The Buzzbees. Holy wow. I’ve never been happier to have my socks blown off by a band that I, ashamedly, had never heard of. They had an intelligent way of songwriting that showed that they had something many ‘new’ bands forget. Restraint. For me, the highlight of the set was a track called “Projector”. I think it highlights everything that this band is all about – also, “The Drifter” was standout track.

You know when bands have that extra instrument, like a violin, or ukulele or trumpet just for no apparent reason? You ask yourself, what was the actual point to having that as part of the song. It had no purpose. The Buzzbees’ use of mandolin and ukulele was the complete opposite of that. It was apparent that they had written their songs with the instruments in mind. A real treat to witness. Seriously, I have never been happier to be pleasantly surprised at a gig. These guys have all the talent to go far in this, the Brisbane music industry.”

Love it! You guys just get better and better! I really hope I get to see you live when I'm back in November.

Another well put together tune by The Buzzbees. This one is nice and moody yet it still warrants radio play due to the fantastic vocals and clever song writing.
