Armed with nothing but a six-string and a song, C. L. Penrose is an old-school guitarslinger bringing the song writing and musicianship of the rock ‘n roll era into 21st century music.
As Time Goes By, the debut single by C. L. Penrose, was recorded at Ladd Studios, a Central Victorian recording studio owned and operated by Erek Ladd, a producer and engineer with over ten years’ experience. A blend of folk, soft rock, and pop, the composition tells the story of the everyday person waking to discover that life is what you make it, and time will not wait for you.
Dating back to 2013, As Time Goes By reflects its themes in its creation, shining a light on its creator. The track is a message; that your identity is what makes you unique, and that life only has meaning if you give it meaning.
C. L. has been playing guitar for almost twenty years, has performed with a number of different groups, and is ready to branch out on his own. A guitarist and songwriter at heart, C. L. draws inspiration from a wide range of musicians of yesteryear for each composition. As Time Goes By finds influence in artists such as Bob Dylan, Steve Howe (Yes), Martin Barre (Jethro Tull) and The Eagles.
As Time Goes By is out now Spotify, iTunes, GooglePlay, YouTube Music, Deezer, and Triple J Unearthed.
