Bio

Cabbages & Kings are a seven to ten piece blues-folk-punk-rock outfit who crawled onto the Melbourne music scene from the coastal swamps of southern Victoria in 2012. The core group has been collecting musicians in and around Melbourne ever since and, as a result, have amassed a collection of cruel and unusual instruments such as fiddles, buckets, tin whistles, chains and horns. Resulting in a kind of folk/punk jungle swamp music designed to inspire psychological breakdown.

From headlining venues throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria, supporting bands like The Bon Scotts, Juke Baritone & the Swamp Dogs, 8 Foot Felix and Mangelwurzel, as well as worming their way onto a string of boutique festivals, their live show of butchered pop, accompanied by a whole lot of sweat and blood, has developed a loyal and cult like following.

In February 2014 they released their debut EP, Something is Wrong, which received rotation on several community radio stations in Melbourne and rural Victoria, including: PBS FM, 3CR AM and RRR FM. Their debut single Minor Swing is from the forthcoming album Do Pig due early 2015 through Cubcave/MGM.
