Bio

A quaint neo-soul 5 piece from the Macedon Ranges.

A bunch of ex-high school mates whose love for each other is prominent in the beautiful music they create. If you dig smooth vibes, soulful lyricism and generally fresh beats - Cacartu is for you!

Review on their new album 'Habitat':

"Habitat marks Cacartu’s sophomore follow-up to their 2016 self-titled debut. Describing themselves as “a quaint neo-soul five-piece” Cacartu doesn’t try to be big, bold or intense; instead the band draws from folk, blues, and psychedelic influences to create a steadfastly soothing sound that revels in its own sonic sweet spot. Its greatest strength is vocalist Kaitlyn Secker, whose light, pretty voice is at times very reminiscent of a mid-2000s Corinne Bailey Rae. Mellow and bluesy tracks such as “Young and Alone,” psychedelic soul-folk “Cyclone,” and the delicate, impressively gentle “I’m Not Looking” are all lovely and undemanding tracks that allow listeners to just sink in and let it all go."
