Cal Davies 28 is originally from Bristol UK, and influenced largely by the Reggae, Dub, D&B, Jungle, Grime and Garage prodigy’s of his youth. After emigrating quite some years ago with his family to Perth and now working out of Perth’s northern suburbs, his influences resonate with the large British contingent that has grown so much in Perth over recent years. Cal has consistently produced beats since the age of 14 and got his first paid DJ gig at 17 (with a bar card!). Using a few different alias' he has been a integral part of Perth's Drum n Bass scene, Beatmaker scene and Reggae/Dancehall scene playing for some of the worlds best Reggae acts. Having his own space to have a dedicated studio at home has given this man the resolve to relentlessly pursue innovation, deviously balancing a blend of several genres at once, referencing those influences of reggae and UK bass music.
