Bio

Having released the first two singles "Holiday Inn" and "Give It To Me Straight" in 2020, WA artist Camarano returns to the new year with the captivating single "Where Am I Now?" from his forthcoming debut album.

Having mesmerised fans with genre-bending sounds since their debut single "Ashes" in 2017, Camarano's debut album is the first body of work since releasing their EP Shadow Calling in 2019. With "Holiday Inn" being added to Spotify's Indie Arrivals playlist and "Give It To Me Straight" revealing a more punchy sound from the album, "Where Am I Now?" brings listeners to the trance like state in which it was written.

Camarano explains "This song is a stream of consciousness, it slipped out of me without my knowing, the music and lyrics all at once. To be honest I don't really know what it's about, it sounds like free falling. If you listen closely you can hear my dog Lucy barking faintly in the background, an unintentional artefact that made it onto the piano track. It sounds like she's trying to wake me from deep sleep. Unexpected imperfections like these are my absolute favourite part of making music."

i could easily hear this at the back end of a war on drugs album as the sun is setting and you're living your best life.

A warmly meandering and touching piece from Camarano - it offers no answers to that central question, but getting lost with this track on in the background sounds good to me.
