Bio

Sydney pop-rock band Capitol Affair formed in 2018, where three of its four members met at University
studying music, before adopting a mutual friend into their ranks. Comprised of Jarrad (vocals/guitar),
Ricky (bass), Thomas (drums) and Ben (guitar), the band cites influences such as The 1975 , The Maine ,
Paramore , and Panic! At The Disco , amalgamating pop melodies with rock instrumentation to create a
driving, energetic sound.
Notable up-and-comers in the Sydney pop-rock scene, Capitol Affair have quickly made their mark since
their formation. The band’s unwavering lyrical honesty and polished production already reach far
beyond their time as a band.
Their independently released debut single “ It’s Too Late ” began to generate buzz on triple j Unearthed,
and was quickly followed by their debut EP ‘ City Lights ’ (also independent).
The band have since played Australia’s premiere emo club night AM//PM in both Sydney and Brisbane
alongside fellow buzz-worthy newcomers Grenade Jumper , as well as snagging a coveted opening slot
for Brisbane’s Awaken I Am .
Capitol Affair ’s first single of 2020, “ Medicate ”, produced by Chris Blancato ( Hellions , Northlane ,
Sienna Skies ) , was released on Friday 3rd April, alongside a striking music video.

Zippy, polished alt-pop track. These guys do it with a clinical precision.

Extremely polished pop-rock that shows plenty of potential. You're undoubtedly making the music that's authentic to what the band is about.
