"An explosion of funk, rock and soul" Captain Who? Captain Groove began accidentally. To begin with it was a jam, Just 5 Jazz students who had had enough of playing standards, and started to just groove on just one long satisfying chord. Someone began to sing and with a nod everyone went with it. The spontaneous and organic vibe that the band had created was so unexpected and purely a mistake. Their success with the following they now have is nothing but a mistake. You can't help but notice that this band has never happened before, combining elements of jazz fusion, funk, disco all tied together with rock. The band lugs a Hammond organ, the bands sound borderlines the 60s and 70s with a very new and youthful vibe. This is Rock Music you could show to your parents. With moments of Queen, this 5 piece band breaks down into just as many part harmonies.
