Bio

Off the back of their massive signing deal with Berlin’s Embassy Of Music and news of their upcoming appearance alongside the likes of Kings of Leon and Mura Masa at Boardmasters UK, Caravãna Sun keep the ball rolling in announcing the release of their new single, ‘Charlie’. The single comes as the band prepares to get back on the road; their three date East Coast tour kicking off this March.

‘Charlie’ is a song about connections and establishing relationships with those around us. It is also a song that encourages the listener to be taking care of themselves too - we can only be our best selves to those in our lives if we’re being the best we can be to ourselves too.

Born out of a guitar riff created while on the road in Europe, then fleshed out over sessions of recording in the Blue Mountains, ‘Charlie’ is Caravãna Sun at their dynamic best. A personal story for songwriter Ant Beard, the single is a call for support and offering hope to those who might be doing it tough. “This song is about reaching out, being open and connecting to people. It’s about knowing that even in your darkest times, people are there to support and love you. At times, these heavy places can seem so lonely and all it takes is an honest conversation to get you out. A beer with a mate, a walk with a friend, or a simple message - you’re not alone.” Caravãna Sun

PRAISE FOR CARAVÃNA SUN

“100% best track I’ve heard from this band; really sounds like they’re honing in on something special. They work seriously hard too so I’m stoked at the forecast of bigger things ahead.”
Triple J Unearthed, Dave Ruby Howe (‘Come Back’, 2018)

“A catchy, choral one of longing for someone or something or summer.”
Triple J, Declan Byrne (‘Come Back’, 2018)

“The EP gives off a psychedelic vibe touching on a few different feels and capturing the likes and similar sounds of Tame Impala with a hint of Cage The Elephant.”
Forte Magazine

Caravãna Sun’s next round of touring starts in Melbourne before carrying on through Sydney and Brisbane, supported by Dreggs. An exciting opportunity for fans to see what the group has been working on and what is still to come, the ‘Charlie’ era is one Caravãna Sun are eager to launch into in the live space.

It's March 2020. We're all stuck inside. And though that'll hamper this hard-gigging band from getting out amongst their fans, I gotta say that they've dropped this song at the right time. Takes you away to somewhere expansive and sun-caressed.
