Catch Release: Soul Folk Soundscape The chemistry of French horn, violin, percussion and unique beat boxing come together as sound and silence. Haunting honey tone vocals layer on top of edgier jazz chords and cheeky, yet enigmatic frontman Tom Lee-Richards gives the music place with suggestive lyrical imagery, creating mood and moments of childlike wonder. Formed in early 2010, Tom envisioned a sound made of jazz, soul, classical, folk and pop elements. Supporting this, a French horn and violin came out to play. Coupled with a unique style of beat boxing, slowly they grew. Bill Bates adds inimitable beats with his background in African percussion. Navin Gulavita (violin and effects) and Tim Hannah (French horn) bring strong floating melodies and Keir Nicholson builds the groove on bass, painting the portrait that is Catch Release.
