Charlie Red are a rock/pop group from suburban Melbourne. Made up of four wanky Year 12 dudes, the band keeps it simple when writing songs. With two lead singers differing in vocal and musical styles, diversity is something this group can certainly lay claim to. Charlie Red play rock songs, pop songs, comical songs and big building ballads. They don’t overcomplicate things and focus on creating strong melodies that their fans can sing along with. Charlie Red have a unique Australian sound to their music, bringing to mind Augie March and perhaps even early Whitlams. After winning the Boroondara PushStart Battle of the Bands competition in August last year, Charlie Red went on to the regional final for the whole of Eastern Melbourne, where they won the door prize for having the most fans there on the night.
