Bio

Charlotte Nicdao is a passive-aggressive sunshine pop fairy. A trained classical and jazz musician (Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Victorian College of the Arts University) Charlotte fell off the Take-Yourself-Seriously-Wagon in mid 2012 to form her debut pop project Charlotte Nicdao and the Sloth Orchestra. Hijacking a group of immensely talented musicians from her jazz course at the VCA, Charlotte leapt into this new way of performance with her angry, awkward, sweary, princess stage persona. Using the skills from her past life to write and arrange glitter-pop earworms, the new project propelled Charlotte into the arms of an exciting new audience. January 2013 saw Charlotte Nicdao and the Sloth Orchestra successfully crowdfund their debut EP through Pozible.com. The EP was recorded early in the year at Sing Sing studios with Australian music engineering legend Adam Rhodes. All geared up to release the record, Charlotte hit a strange roadblock in March 2013 when she was cast as a series regular in the primetime NBC television series “Camp”. A 10 episode dramedy which aired in the US through the year, this proved a big enough distraction to delay the release of the EP to early 2014.
