Bio

Cheekbone is truly a product of his upbringing - a hybridised weapon of eastern instrumentation and modern EDM. His production intersects post-everything internet ideals with surprisingly cinematic pop-facing songwriting.

The Australian-born, Iranian-Canadian stacks up references that shouldn’t
work but do. At its core it’s chaos: heavy percussion rhythms thick with bass
distortion, melancholic metal guitar working alongside frenetic ney flute and
santoor in a pummelling distillation of east meets west.

Summoning his unholy communion of Death Pop - Cheekbone debuted the festival stage in style, christening his set at GTM 2019 with crowd surfing and circle pits. Ushering in his soon to be released EP, Cheekbone will deliver releases with cinematic atmosphere and blaring distortion in waves of unapologetic torrents.

One of those songs that makes whatever you're thinking about while listening seem epic. Could be the soundtrack to a Transformers fight scene with that dubstep kinda breakdown at 2mins or just get you in the zone of a thoughtful walk home.

Love that the sweeping arrangement and Lonelyspeck's feature vocals are obliterated by the wave of electronic noise at Cheekbone's fingertips.

One moment you're sinking into those dramatic synths and then you're thrown back up into the air thanks to those gritty bursts of sound.
