Bio

China Blue (Darren Forster) is a Kalgoorlie based, blues/pop styled singer/songwriter. His music draws on wide reaching influences, an eclectic style and a troubled personality. With signature ashy vocals and often dark lyrical musings, China Blue habitually combines with his band of brothers, misfits and some of the hottest musos in WA, to form The China Blue Experiment (‘TCBE’). TCBE deliver improvisation heavy, super energised and edge of your seat arrangements of TCBE catalogue. Musically, TCBE are going from strength to strength, with their brand new single ‘Harlem’ already enjoying national airplay with the support of Triple J’s ‘Roots n’ All’ program. They also have a huge follow up release scheduled for the end of May recorded as part of West Australian Music’s (‘WAM’) ‘Sounds of the Goldfields’ Compilation.
In the last 12 months, TCBE have played Beerfest Asia, headlined WAM’s Wheatbelt touring circuit and were the runner up in Pirate FM's Regional Song of the Year awards. The band have also held the #1 position on the Reverbnation local blues charts for well over a year. TCBE were finalists in the inaugural Bridgetown Blues Festival's Winter Blues Challenge and Gordon (keys) was nominated in the best keys player category of the 2015 WAM Awards. The band actively tour the east coast of Australia and have a tour of the ‘Top End’ booked for July through August this year. China Blue regularly performs live, and on radio all around the Country and recently showcased solo at Kalgoorlie's Sunset at the Soundshell to over 5000 people. On top of this Darren has just performed two sold out and critically acclaimed shows with London's 'House Gospel Choir' for the closing nights of the Perth International Arts Festival.

I like your voice, touch of the Ray LaMontagne in happy mode. Strong build and a chorus that's still echoing in my head. Stop it!
