Bio

Having met while attending the University of Sydney, guitarist Tim Peterson and bassist Luise Martin’s mutual love for the jangly and nostalgic sounds of 80’s Indie Pop groups such as The Smiths and The Go-Betweens sparked an interest in forming a band together. A few bad songs and failed jams later, Tim invited their friend Lauren Towler-Lovell to join the band as the lyricist/vocalist. The first batch of Chinese Takeaway songs were then written and finished in Lauren’s bedroom very quickly. Joined by drummer/keyboardist Finn Allen, the band began rehearsing in late 2018. This year, the band quickly got to work on their debut single “Grace” and are looking to perform their dynamic live sets around local venues. They hope to release more original music, play a bunch of shows and have a heap of fun doing so.

Such a great tune!!! The expression in the little piano intro sets the mellow tone for the rest of the song. I could listen to that bridge all day! Can’t wait to see what you guys have for us next.
