    PHWOAR! It’s been a long time between drinks for Chris Duke and the Royals. They launched their last release back in 2011 to a sold out Annandale Hotel playing two sets including one filled with ska punk covers of the entire Lion King soundtrack. Since then, they have toured around Australia with international acts like Streetlight Manifesto and played with Australia’s best ska bands such as The Bennies, Area 7 and The Porkers. They also released a live CD from that launch night and a music video filmed on a Brisbane carpark rooftop. Their latest album, PHWOAR! has been an ongoing project over the last three years with the band choosing to adopt a DIY approach to the recording and releasing process. The new songs feature their trademark ska punk party sound and are filled with fat drums, intricate bass lines and huge horn melodies.
