Melbourne chill dudes Ciggie Witch make leisurely indie pop full of warmth and longing.
Tell us about your music. How did you develop your sound?
Mitch and I (Zac) are the main song writers in Ciggie Witch, we each bring basic rhythm guitar and vocals to the band and then everyone else writes their own parts which can get a bit hectic when everyone's writing different melodies, luckily they never seem to clash.
What’s your greatest source of inspiration for making music?
I guess the biggest source of inspiration is just everyone who is around us and the music they are all playing.
What can punters expect from a Ciggie Witch live show?
Awkwardness and the same bad jokes every show.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given and who was it from?
Being told to sing with my own voice and my Dad said you should play covers because INXS did.
What Australian track would you play to cheer up someone who was crying?
A song that could cheer you up is 'Do What You Wanna' by Andre.
What Australian track would you play to someone to make them cry?
A song to make someone cry is 'Long Weekend' by Ciggie Witch.
You’re the DJ at a party. The dance floor is pumping. What Australian track do you put on next?
Boy Forever - Lets Talk About It
What was the last local gig you went to? How was it?
The last show I was at was a Haircut show and it was mad as, they were great and their was $2 pots/middys.
Tell us about the bands or people in the Melbourne music community that inspire you.
Everyone in the band and the other projects they have.

Brilliant awkward pop song that sounds laid back and urgent at the same time, just like other Australian classics. Clever guitar lines abound. Who doesn't love a long weekend?

So good to hear ...
So good to hear some new Ciggie Witch. This one's a lively tune that's offset with some classic Ciggie navel gazing. Particularly like the line about Terminator 2 on VHS.
