Bio

Clay J Gladstone was formed in 2020, comprised of current and former members of Sydney powerhouses Resist the Thought, Caulfield, and Buried in Verona.

The band formed when childhood enemies Clay J and Johnny David, finally decided to bury the hatchet and start a racket. They then recruited Cole Wilkins, Kabir Naval, and Omar Hussain, to act as both the glue and the buffer that keeps Clay J Gladstone a tight, tumultuous, forceful, and fully functional collective.

While being unabashed self-proclaimed emo-pop punks, Sydney music magazine, Happy Mag, has labelled the band from the Blue Mountains as “gritty, perversive, and utterly luscious … they will punch you in the face, then get stuck in your head.”

Clay J Gladstone uploaded their first single, Melancholy Lunacy, to Triple J’s Unearthed in August 2020. It immediately caught the attention of Triple J presenter, Joshua Redbeard, who gave the track airtime on his show, ‘Short. Fast. Loud.”, describing the song as: “A track that will just kick you in the guts”.

Spending the remainder of 2020 bunkered down in the studio writing, recording, and filming, Clay J Gladstone is prepared for what is going to be a wild 2021 – and beyond.

Much like the chain-attached velcro wallet I'm rocking for this classic punk vibe - it rips!

Even though he said not to, I'm going to say I'm sorry because I'm a punk and you can't tell me what to do; but I can tell you what to do and that is listen to this song right now!
