Based on the Fraser Coast, Cassie Lear (CLEAR) has lived a life moulded, inspired and expressed by and through music. Growing up in a rural town in East Gippsland Victoria, she's been surrounded by a musical family and community environment all throughout her life and has spent her time immersed in musical creativity since childhood.
In early 2019 she debuted with the simple and stripped back 'For You', releasing Somnium next in mid July, which gained radio attention on Australian major independent stations 4ZZZ and PBS as well as overseas on Belter Radio in the UK and internationally syndicated radio show Lopsided World Of L.
'Somnium' also spent a combined total of fifty five days in Spotify’s editorial playlists Pop Right Now and Chilled Pop Hits.
'Always' is her latest expansive single - a soaring romantic ballad with sweeping synths and an emotional depth portraying a sudden yet certain steadfastness in love. The track celebrates the journey of coming to terms with finding and forming a deep romantic connection strong enough to become endgame for two lovers.
Already it has gained traction with independent radio stations with live interviews and airplay, and editorials written in support from sources such as the well-loved Sydney magazine Happy Mag.
CLEAR appreciates a wide array of genres. She creates resounding lyrical melodies as well as instrumental works of sweeping symphonies. Writing and arranging lyrics and prose for as long as she's had memory, she has never not been a wordsmith, and her vocals have always been a highlighted feature among her works.
The twenty-five year old is also a budding multi-instrumentalist with her hands on various kinds of instruments from guitars to keys, saxophone to clarinet, mandolin to a quirky collection of ukuleles.
CLEAR's songs are self-recorded and self-produced, and what is available to be heard now is very much only the beginning.
