Artist:Clove

Clove are an emerging five piece band from Melbourne, comprising of Mark Jamieson (Lead Vocal), Ben Hyland (Guitar), Luke Petherick (Guitar and Backing Vocals), Jared Chappell (Bass and Backing Vocals) and Chris Pratt (Drums). Clove sounds like an amalgamation of mid 2000’s introspective emo and the brash abrasive attitude of 90’s alternative rock, while also giving a nod towards the more melodic aspects of hardcore. Upon immediate listening, bands such as Basement, Title Fight and Australia’s own Endless Heights come to mind, yet the band would fit just as well on any mid 90’s bill. The band came together in late 2016 with the release of their two track ‘Home in a Haven/Dear You’ which garnered airplay on triple J’s short.fast.loud. Before the group had even made their live debut. ‘I Saw Fire’ followed in early 2017, receiving more comprehensive triple J radio play, heavy rotation on triple J Unearthed and support from community radio (4ZZZ, SYN FM).
