Bio

Coast & Ocean returns with a new single, “Golden” featuring Alice Hills, with a gorgeous visual soon to follow

"Free us from our chains and all possessions. I leave expectations at the door, I need no more answers. Life's but a question swept on the shores..."

- Coast & Ocean, Golden

After two long years on the road playing festivals and shows across Europe and Asia, Coast & Ocean finally returned home for a much-anticipated Australian tour; which due to current circumstances only lasted three shows. Nevertheless, the show must go on and so now we're blessed by a new single, pending video, and promise of major content in 2020.

"Golden" is a euphoric tale of love, home and connection, a message now more relevant than ever. Produced by frequent collaborator Delipres and featuring co-star and romantic partner Alice Hills, the three minute epic features gorgeous vocals over soft guitars, complete with chillingly beautiful poetry. In a drama filled story, the NSW surf coast artist wrote a significant portion of the song while feeling lost as he volunteered in a French refugee camp after being refused entry into the UK interrupting his tour plans

"Golden is about being loved and valued. Like Gold. The way Alice made me feel when she welcomed me into her flat. Going from couch to couch as a street artist for so many years is much similar to being homeless, I finally felt home..."

Likened to fellow Aussie guitarist / vocalists Matt Corby and Tash Sultana, with a hint of Mac Miller, Coast & Ocean has been strongly endorsed by Aussie tastemakers over the last 12 months including new music blog GOOD INTENT who recently stated "Coasty perfectly captures the Aussie sun, sand and surf in every one of his songs whilst maintaining an upbeat mood. This artist is a sound to behold."

After recent A/B side drops "Peaches N Cream / Cherry Cola" were well received by industry and fans alike, with the A side scoring numerous editorial placements on Apple Music, while the B side received its own music video and strong organic numbers, the timing is ideal to release 'Golden' the major lead-in to the singer-songwriter's long awaited sophomore project.

Great to hear new stuff from Coast & Ocean. His key asset is that chilled yet emotionally-precise delivery, but he goes even better on this track with the high quality production and beautiful guest vocals from Alice Hills.
