Bio

Cobi Marsh, a Melbourne based artist, has a very mysterious & intriguing style & sound. Her Mixtape, ‘Call Me Claudette’ which was released online in 2012, had an eclectic mix of genres, paying homage to old school Hip Hop beats and infusing them with her own flavours of soul, pop & reggae. The mixtape featured tracks co-written with Kayven Temperely of Eskimo Joe, Jade MacRae, Phrase & Cameron McGlinchey. Beats from De La Soul, 9th Wonder, Hocus Pocus & Jase Catherine of Obese Records. Since the release of her mixtape, Cobi has been back & forth between Melbourne & New York, working with an array of writers & producers developing her style & sound. ‘Legit‘ is Cobi Marsh’s first EP. Created in Melbourne & Perth, fully produced by Ryan Ritchie & co-written by Cobi Marsh, Ryan Ritchie & Kavyen Temperley. Tracks on her new EP take more of a trap / pop direction paired with Cobi’s distinguishable vocals. Legit, A Side will be released February 2016 & Legit, B Side mid 2016. Previously Cobi was signed to Michael Parisi MGMT & a production label in London, fronted by award winning song writer Tom Nichols (Celine Dion and Sugababes to Hall & Oats and Kylie Minogue).

This is really solid poppy soul with precision production behind it. It's that tricky breed of pop music that could boom with the Tumblr crowd or easily transcend to something like Video Hits (RIP). And that's not a bad problem for Cobi to have.
