After whetting our appetites with their debut track ‘Alibi’ Melbourne four-piece The Colour Code are back with their second single ‘It’s Up To Me’, a pop-soul jam that will grab you from the first beat. Originally spawned as part of a solo project for frontman Michael Soltys ‘It’s Up To Me’ was a surprise hit when the band took to the studio late last year to work with producer Tom Larkin (Shihad) and desk wizard Samuel Sproull (Gatherer). Not originally earmarked for recording, the track evolved to be the highlight of the sessions after Larkin became fixated on it. Having impressed crowds playing shows across Melbourne and Sydney to promote ‘Alibi’ the band are eager to reveal their latest offering. With Motown inspired sounds colliding with modern-pop influences ‘It’s Up To Me’ is a call out to that familiar feeling of one’s ongoing battle between both their selfish and selfless sides.
