Bio

The Con & The Liar began as a blues rock duo that evolved from the throws of a mutual love of The White Stripes and DZ Deathrays. Forming a small but devout following within the Brisbane rock scene throughout 2013, the band suffered the departure of drummer Alex Marzullo early 2015. Callum Halstead recruited the drumming skills of Maxwell Kennedy and dared to add in the bass, in the form of Thomas Oliver. The change in line-up inevitably brought about a change in sound; the rock became more prevalent with a groove element that can only be attributed to sweet, sweet bass.

Following on from their debut album release "Deserters", the band have received airplay love from community radio stations around Australia, in particularly Brisbane's 4ZZZ FM. 2015 is on the rise for these lads as they were selected to take part in the annual Indie 100 Project as well as performing at the infamous Little Big Sound.

The Con & The Liar, have matured in a way that is surprising for such a young band, with the songwriting aplomb of artists far beyond their years. They have set their sights high on their local hometown of Brisbane, and tomorrow, the world.

Yay I love finding new rock acts! I can definitely hear that White Stripes influence throughout and this makes for a very commanding and explosive number. You have my attention!
