Connor Ross is a multi-instrumentalist singer/songwriter from the Far South Coast of NSW, now based in Melbourne. With an alternative folk sound that features jazz and blues influences, Connor places emphasis on the use of looping and effects to create dynamic sounds in his live performance; through his articulation of musical light and shade, Connor creates complex and atmospheric live experiences that continue to captivate audiences.
In 2014 Connor was a semi-finalist in the Telstra Road To Discovery, one of Australia’s most respected songwriter development programs. Off the back of this success, he carried on to play support slots for the likes of Jack Carty, Steve Smyth and Daniel Champagne, becoming a respected and known musician in his home region. He has become a recognised performer at such festivals as the Cobargo Folk Festival and Candelo Village Festival.
In 2015 Connor relocated to Melbourne to study and pursue music, and began work on a debut self-produced EP, heavily influenced by recollection of the natural beauty of the NSW Far South Coast. The 5-track EP ‘Come To Think’ is out now through all major online distributors and physically via www.connor-ross.com
“… so fresh, his song writing is really quirky in a way that I don’t think I’ve heard before.”
