Artist:Corey Makin

Inspired by early rock legends such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, Corey Makin merges together elements of folk-rock and blues-rock, touching on elements of progressive and occasionally jazz infused styles. With roots in hometown Mudgee, Corey has branched out into the Hunter Valley Region, and is currently based in Newcastle where, amongst recording and composing for his other projects, he works on bringing to life demo tracks for his up and coming, self titled EP. Spurred on to further his career by a change from bush to urban sprawl, he studied music and the industry for 3 years, but still gravitates artistically to the music experiences of his childhood. After starting piano lessons at age ten, then guitar lessons at age 12, Corey became the lead singer in his first band at 14 winning a local song writing competition with his group.
