Artist:Country Junk

Country Junk is a culmination of traditional song writing methods and forms countered by a skewed pop sensibility that relies on borrowed nuance from alt. country, rural folk, indie and psychedelic rock from both decades past and genre-bending contemporary artists today. The formation was a humble one as there wasn’t much of a preconceived notion as to what the band would be – if it were to be a band at all. It started gradually as the writing project of Messrs Jayke Maddison and Nicholas Bunting though after several months of homely development a percussionist was added in the form of Benjamin Timony to help flesh out the sound. Though he would soon depart and be consequently replaced by mutual friend George Carpenter this would be the beginning of Country Junk in its current form. Our debut LP is currently in its early stages of formation which will be funded entirely by the band itself and recorded at a home studio in our local area of Mudgeeraba. Comparative, influential ...
