Bio

From the same school that brought you Horrorshow, Spit Syndicate and Jackie Onassis, come the Crooks. An ever evolving brand of rap, they try and push genre barriers, blending heavy 808s, catchy guitar riffs and evocative lyrics with contemporary synths. An energetic live show that saw them sell out iconic Sydney venue The Annandale Hotel after playing just six gigs, combined with support slots for 360, Pez, Spit Syndicate, Tuka, Chance Waters and a spot on the Come Together 2013 lineup proves that they are a crew to watch out for. Their next release, "This Is Us," features production from Adit (Horrorshow), Cam Bluff (Vegas Aces), Raph (Jackie Onassis), Freddy Crabs (Sticky Fingers) and Liz Macnaught. It was mixed by Kai (Jackie Onassis).

Some introspective stuff here from the Crooks. They know how to recruit some good company for their tunes so I'm looking forward to the EP release.

This one sounds better on second listen for me. The raps aren't testing the boundaries too much, just the Crooks throwing some machismo around. Great thumping beat from Jackie Onassis' Raph.
