Independent recording artists Cylo, hail from Melbourne, Australia. The duo, consisting of Sebby and Julian AK, are a sub-group of Melbourne collective, The Outside Inn. Cylo are a contrast of light and dark, with the theme of duality ever present in their music. Avid hip hop lovers, Cylo fuse the old and the new school in their rhymes, striving to showcase their individual lyrical stamina and gifts for storytelling.
Cylo released their debut single Highways in December 2016, followed by their first album, Arc 1: Jenesis in January. Highways, features smooth vocals and a catchy hook sung by Outside Inn bandmate, Blue Moon.
Exploring the themes of duality and forward movement the video clip for Highways has had over 50 thousand streams on Facebook alone. Cylo recently stepped in to the studio with Pete Rock, after he recognised their talent when the artists opened for him and C.L Smooth at their Melbourne show.
Individually, Cylo have been creating for over ten years, but Sebby and Julian AK have only recently formed a duo. This year alone, the duo have opened for Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth and Scribe in Melbourne, been featured in Beat Magazine and Beatspeak Media and on AUD’$, Baked Goods, A Primate Evolved, The Thematic Hour on SYN Hip Hop and Fresh Produce on PBS 106.7FM as well as added to various Spotify and Souncloud playlists.
In the short time they have been together, Cylo have sold out numerous venues across Melbourne including Rubix Warehouse, Prince Bandroom, Laundry Bar, The Liberty Social, The Shadow Electric, The Evelyn and performed at various festivals including Peel St Block Party, Forward Festival and most recently Beyond The Valley.
