Artist:Damn Williams

Tasmanian expat Elliot Taylor (Tiger Choir, Poppongene, Dazzle Ships) adopts his mother's maiden name and reflects on Van Diemen's of the past with his new project, Damn Williams. His first single "Damn Summer" attempts to exorcise the grief and loosen the grip of nostalgia in adopting a naive adolescent voice to narrate memories of rural lutruwitan childhood, early experiences of gender, sexuality and death. It's an acknowledgement of vulnerability and reaction against the adult impulse to control, mitigate or bemoan, with Bowie infused vocals set amidst a soundscape alluding to 90's guitars and Australiana.
